Starting the Clock

Key Lesson Concepts:

Signal Practice:

  • Perform the signal 10 times on the right side and 10 times on the left side to ensure proficiency with both arms.
  • Focus on creating a polished and consistently sharp chopping in (starting) of the clock.

Stop the Clock and Chop:

  • Although our version of this signal is not technically approved in High School, we highly encourage incorporating it to enhance fluidity, clarity, and believability.
  • Emphasize a clear chopping motion rather than simply dropping the hand.

Signal Techniques:

  • The signal should be executed with a snap and closed knuckles, forming a fist.
  • The chop should be performed at face level, with the arm extended out in front or to the side of the body.

Pro Tips:

  • Imagine holding a screwdriver or knife and stabbing the wall to create a strong and assertive motion.
  • Focus on creating a sharp, snapping motion for a more assertive signal.
